Former Blaze Player Stephanie Killins Signs with Hofstra University
(article from Blaze News)
Stephanie Killins will be playing for Hofstra University in Long Island, New York for the Fall of 2007. A former Blaze middle, and graduate of M.M. Robinson, Stephanie distinguished herself as a volleyball force over the past season at Coffeyville Community College, where she led the Ravens team in kills and blocks, and was second in service aces. Recognition of her ability came with a first team selection in the All-Conference and All Region teams. Stephanie becomes the first player in Raven history to advance to an NCAA University. Head Coach Delice Dowling acknowledges that Hofstra will be getting “a wonderful athlete”.
An All Star player for Burlington Blaze, Stephanie was scouted by Panola Junior College, Texas at the 18U Tier I Provincials in 2005, where Blaze finished in 9th position in the Province. At Panola she achieved an All Conference selection in her freshman year and transferred to Coffeyville in the Fall of 2006.
Stephanie, one of the most successful Blaze graduates in the U.S. ranks, is looking forward to her new school. She describes the academic programme as being very strong, especially in her subject area of business, and describes her new team as “a perfect match of players and coaches”.
